We all know that football is a game of opinions, but British football fans may just be the most opinionated and passionate of them all. With that in mind, we are looking for the most enthusiastic and promising Football Writers to contribute with their own thoughts on the latest topics in the Premier League, the Football League, the SPL and the Scottish Football league. The types of subject matter we at FootySpeak would encourage contributors to write about would include:
- Managerial Casualties
- Weekend Predictions
- End of Season Predictions
- Betting Advice
- Players In/Out of Form
- Young Players to Watch
- Transfer Speculation (Do not make up your own rumour!)
- Issues concerning your club
We must note that if you feel as you have a different subject matter that will engage a positive footballing debate then we will post it!
TONE OF VOICE
What our long term aim is with FootySpeak is to create a diverse pool of footballing knowledge. We encourage every contributor to have their own style and tone of voice, and will not discourage those who believe their writing style is different but still as effective as what is already on the website.
We accept all contributions by email and encourage all contributors to contact our editor before submitting their final editorial. This is not a requirement, but it will save you the time of writing the piece. If you do decide to run your article idea by our editor before you begin writing the content then you will have to give either an outline, abstract or brief description of the piece. If necessary, your article should be accompanied by a bibliography of the author. At this moment in time, we encourage that there be no submissions including multimedia files, due to the strong copyright ownership laws involving football based multimedia content.
All content should be at least 300 words, but we will discard any article that is over 800. Any breaking new stories are required to be 150 words at least.
